Road warriors--look at that luggage!
Leaving Tulsa at 11:40am. Headed for Vinita McDonalds. Just made it 2 miles from Tulsa and already eating string cheese. Deb fixing Delma's phone or something. First toll was $4; guess we are riding on gold.
12:15pm - arriving Vinita McDonalds. It is called McDonald Glass House -- air
conditioner out in McDonalds. HOT HOT!
We passed Grandpa and Grandma.....Grandma asleep. Oh look out, here they come around us. Here we go around them. Jean said Grandma is still snoring.
Entering Missouri 1:35pm. Deb's getting map out. There goes Grandma and Grandpa again. Grandma is still asleep.
Busy highway. Lee says the lines on the road to wake you up are called "shit lines". Deb says we are playing bumper cars. Truck getting a little close. 2:30pm. Stopping for gas and potty break. Debbie now driving. Now here we go. No "oh shit lines". Delma got battery cigarette. Still trying to figure out how to use it. Just went by World's largest fireworks stand.
3:30 stopping at candy factory. Got Chocolate. Saw same people in McDonalds at Vinita. Deb and Delma got Grandma mugs. The St Louis map is eating Delma up and she is having a fit. Passed a car...man didn't have any clothes on. Delma had to take her glasses off and Debbie hit the "oh shit line". Jean's mood ring made her happy.
On road again; had a nice stop at a great rest area on I44. Lots of Locusts. "Amen sister!" (by Delma). New driver (Delman); more "oh Shit" lines. Delma said she is ready to see the "Arches". I told Delma there is only one Arch. In Delma's mind, she is giving Debbie the finger. Oh, not only in her mind; she IS giving Debbie the finger
We see the "Arch". Woo-hoo. Why is Garmen taking us away from the Arch and across the Mississippi River? This doesn't seem right. Oh well, we are commited now (not literally). Turning around and going back over the Mississippi. Yep, there is the turn for the Arch.
It's 7:40pm. We won't tour the Arch tonight; we are now hunting for a hotel room. That's proving to be a problem.....the Chicago Cubs are here playing Cardinals. Not to mention there are lots of weddings. Looks like we may have found one; yes we did. We are staying at the Red Roof in. The room looks a bit questionable, but don't feel there is an option at this point. Delma said the picture in room in "cool"; no bed bugs. Do have a damn fly. Carpet is wet. Guess they shampooed today. That's it for the day.
